DistilaBact™LP: Bacteria can be your friend!
Lallemand Distilling is proud to support DistilaBact LP, a selected bacteria for your fermentation.
DistilaBact LP is a specially selected strain of Lactobacillus plantarum designed to support the development of sour characteristics during whisky production.
At Lallemand Distilling, our goal is to empower distillers with the tools to directly manage and control sour mash whisky fermentation. That’s why we developed DistilaBact LP.
This bacterial supplement is easy to use: simply add it directly to the mash, either at the same time as the yeast (see DistilaMax; for compatible strains) or a few hours afterward.
DistilaBact LP helps regulate the expected pH drop at the start of fermentation and contributes to the creation of a unique aromatic profile—enhancing complexity beyond what yeast alone can achieve.
